Why Choose Miami Pulmonary Specialists
Miami Pulmonary Specialists is comprised of a team of outstanding physicians and nurse practitioners, all of whom are dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care to patients with lung diseases and those who are critically ill. Our vision is to provide innovative, exceptional and most importantly, humanistic care for our patients as well as prevent, detect and treat respiratory disorders.
Miami Pulmonary Specialists was conceived based on the idea that medicine is a vocation. As the landscape of medicine has grown more impersonal, Drs. Hernandez, Sevilla, Sosa, Almerico and Egusquiza feel that personal communication and continuity of care with their patients is paramount to practicing excellent medicine. Miami Pulmonary Specialists aims to put patients first…always. We are a family, and our patients are part of it.
As part of the MPS family, we want you to feel confident that you are getting the best pulmonary care. The physicians at Miami Pulmonary Specialists are all triple boarded in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. We specialize in evaluating and treating diseases of the lungs and respiratory system in both an outpatient and inpatient hospital setting. We treat lung diseases such as asthma, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) interstitial lung disease, pleural effusions, sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis, and COVID. We manage sleep disorders, which include sleep apnea and narcolepsy. In order to diagnose and treat these diseases and disorders, we provide non-invasive diagnostic respiratory testing such as pulmonary function testing, oximetry, and sleep testing. We work closely with your primary care physician and other specialists to develop a treatment plan that ensures the highest quality medical care that is tailored for you.
Innovators in pulmonary procedures, Drs. Hernandez and Sevilla are the first and only pulmonologists performing endobronchial valves for lung reduction volume in emphysema patients using the Zephyr valve. All the physicians at MPS are the first in Miami to be trained in the latest robotic bronchoscopy, which can more accurately detect a lung nodule anywhere in the lung, as opposed to an unnecessary surgery or more invasive and unnecessary testing.
